Stewardship Campaign 2026: Plenty Good Room

  • Saint Matthias Episcopal Church 7056 Washington Avenue Whittier, CA, 90602 United States (map)

As we look toward the year ahead, we invite you to reflect on God’s abundance and consider how your gifts of time, talent, and treasure support our shared mission and ministries.

2026-27 Stewardship Campaign Theme: Plenty Good Room

The image of God’s house as a place with "Plenty Good Room" reminds us that God’s love is generous, abundant, and greater than we can imagine. While the world often speaks of scarcity, the Gospel offers a different vision: there is enough, there is grace, and there is room for each of us.

Stewardship is how we respond to this abundance. Our generosity sustains worship, Christian formation, fellowship, pastoral care, and outreach—creating a community where all can encounter Christ, grow in faith, and share God’s love.

2026-27 Stewardship Campaign

Our 2026-27 Stewardship Campaign officially began on Sunday, October 11, and will run through Christ the King Sunday, November 22, when all pledges collected to date will be brought to the altar to be blessed. Understanding that some of us cannot make a formal commitment until late December or January, pledge tallies will continue through our annual parish meeting at the end of January 2027. Over the coming weeks, please look for social media posts and reflections to guide our discernment around financial tithing (Numbers 18:26) and volunteer service.

Narrative Budget Goals

Financial pledges and volunteer service support about two-thirds of Saint Matthias’s operating budget—funding staff salaries, utilities, property maintenance, insurance, and diocesan contributions. To ensure long-term stability, our goal is for pledge income to cover three-quarters of these operating costs. For 2026-27, our target is to secure 50–65 pledges totaling $320,000–$355,000. Every gift matters and will be received with gratitude.

Facilities Care

Our aging buildings and grounds require ongoing upkeep, overseen by our Facilities Manager, Ben Gonzalez. Major repairs often require outside contractors, making your support more essential to maintaining our church home.

Convenient Online Giving via VANCO
